The History of Professional Insurors
A Meek Beginning
Professional Insurors - 1978
Professional Insurors (PI) began operations in 1977 with offices in Oklahoma City and Dallas under the name Property Insurors, Inc. Cliff Miller and a partner were the sole stockholders, and the firm specialized in coverage for apartments.
In 1978, Property Insurors, Inc. of Oklahoma City became Property Insurors Consultants Agency, Inc. owned 100% by Cliff Miller. The agency focused on property and casualty, primarily in multi-housing risks.
Professional Insurors Satellite Office - 1980
During the 1980's Property Insurors expanded by continuing our philosophy of target marketing. The agency added satellite offices in Lawton, Duncan and Broken Arrow along with producers and specialty programs, growing to over 26 employees.
Professional Insurors Building 1981 - 1986
Early in 1990, Property Insurors began to once again add producers and develop new target markets. The strategy was to build in a controlled way, adding support staff as each producer developed a book of business in new niches.
Professional Insurors Building 1988 - Lakeview Energy Suite 1000
On October 1st, 1999, Property Insurors became Professional Insurors Agency, LLC. The name change was made to reflect the growth and diversity of the agency. Professional Insurors (PI) is still a specialist; the difference is we now have multiple specialist creating a diversified independent agency.
Professional Insurors - Present Location
The 1980's offered many challenges for Oklahoma businesses. Due to the collapse of major Oklahoma banks and the decline of the Oklahoma economy, many businesses were eliminated or reduced in size. To adjust to the times, the decision was made to downsize from a staff of 26 to only Cliff, his son Kelly Miller, who joined the agency in 1987, and five key personnel. It was the right move as the agency returned to immediate profitability.
Professional Insurors Building 1986 - 1988
In 1997 Property Insurors, who just 10 years earlier had to downsize, was honored by being named one of the "Metro 50"; an award given to the 50 fastest growing privately held companies in Oklahoma City. PI was recognized two more times and is still one of the few companies over 20 years old to be listed in multiple years.
Professional Insurors Building- 1995
On January 1, 2009, after a five year planned transition, Kelly Miller purchased Professional Insurors. Since then, the Agency has continued to grow and add producers, and has also started a separate entity, TCOR Services USA, LLC to provide services to our clients to focus on their Total Cost of Risk (TCOR).
The current facility was designed as state-of-the-art including an employee training center and modern amenities.

Professional Insurors has received multiple awards for growth, managemet, and automation including the prestigious "Best Practices Agency" award from 2007-2014 and again from 2020 to present. This award recognizes the leading agents and brokers in the United States in several categories including financial stability.
